About The Position

Kool Chevrolet is looking for a motivated, hands-on New Vehicle Sales Manager – Team Development & Operations to join our new vehicle leadership team and work directly with our New Vehicle Sales Director. This is a support-focused leadership role centered around developing our sales staff, reinforcing established processes, creating additional sales opportunities, and helping maintain the positive, accountable culture of our department. We are not looking for someone to come in and independently run or reinvent the new vehicle department. We are looking for someone who enjoys being involved with the sales team every day—coaching, motivating, following up, solving problems, reinforcing good habits, and helping our salespeople become more successful. The right candidate will be a strong supporter of the sales staff while also being comfortable holding people accountable to established expectations and processes. They should be detail-oriented, organized, positive, approachable, and interested in continuing to learn and grow as a dealership leader.

Requirements

  • Prior automotive retail sales experience required
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable coaching, motivating, and holding salespeople accountable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of CRM follow-up, prospecting, and customer-retention processes
  • Ability to reinforce established sales and appraisal processes consistently
  • Ability to work collaboratively across Sales, Finance, Pre-Owned, and Fixed Operations
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and approachable leadership style
  • Strong follow-through and personal accountability
  • Desire to learn, develop, and grow within dealership management

Nice To Haves

  • Previous dealership sales management experience preferred, but not required
  • Experienced automotive sales professionals ready to take the next step into management are encouraged to apply
  • Current or former Automotive Finance Managers interested in transitioning into sales management are encouraged to apply
  • General Motors or Chevrolet experience is helpful, but not required for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with sales consultants to review activity, opportunities, follow-up, and individual performance
  • Ensure consistent follow-up with unsold showroom, phone, and internet customers
  • Help sales consultants identify and re-engage previous customers and existing dealership customers
  • Monitor CRM activity and reinforce consistent follow-up, prospecting, and customer-retention habits
  • Coach, motivate, and support sales consultants throughout the sales process
  • Help maintain a positive, energetic, team-oriented, and accountable sales-floor environment
  • Reinforce and enforce established dealership sales, trade-in, and appraisal processes
  • Assist sales consultants with customer situations, deal progression, and closing opportunities
  • Support management with day-to-day sales-floor operations as needed
  • Help manage new vehicle lot organization and work with the sales team to ensure inventory is properly parked, displayed, maintained, and easy to locate
  • Coordinate with Service Loaner management to provide appropriate new vehicle inventory and help ensure proper utilization of loaner vehicles
  • Develop and manage a consistent service-lane sales process designed to identify trade opportunities and create new vehicle sales from customers already utilizing our Service Department
  • Work closely with Finance, Pre-Owned, Service, and other departments to identify additional customer and sales opportunities
  • Help identify areas where individual sales consultants need additional coaching, training, or accountability
  • Assist with new vehicle department projects, initiatives, and operational needs as directed by the New Vehicle Sales Director
