About The Position

The New Product Manufacturing Engineer (NPME) is responsible for commercializing newly designed products and features, moving them from initial design into volume manufacturing operations. The role reviews, evaluates, and modifies engineering designs to facilitate manufacturability at suppliers and in Applied Materials manufacturing operations. It also creates Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to provide design enhancements and manufacturing-ready kit structures. The NPME routinely uses modeling and drafting software, principally Unigraphics/NX, and Teamcenter to access designs throughout new product development. The role works with design engineering, operations, Global Product Management, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and transition products from new product introduction to volume manufacturing. Knowledge of supplier manufacturing processes and experience engaging suppliers to resolve issues are additional qualifications.
