New Patient Coordinator
About The Position
The New Patient Coordinator screens incoming referrals for Cancer, benign Hematology, and Malignant Hematology patients. Works with providers, Nurse Navigators, and other support staff to schedule patients in the appropriate timeframes. Reviews referrals for appropriate diagnoses and sufficient records. Places requests and communicates with referring providers offices when additional records are required to establish care. Serves as a liaison between referring providers offices and our Clinic. Assists patients with questions regarding establishing care. Prepares New Patient Charts and sends introduction packets to patients.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and computer skills required.
Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience working on new patient referrals preferred.
- Knowledge of area specialty practices preferred.
- Hematology & Oncology experience preferred.
- Experience with the Epic EMR, office skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and insurance terminology a plus.
