As a New Graduate RN Resident, you will have the opportunity to grow, learn and make a meaningful impact while caring for patients at the forefront of neurological medicine. Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute is expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Main Campus designed to transform care for patients with complex neurological conditions, including spine injuries, epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. This innovative facility brings every stage of neurological care together under one roof, creating an exceptional environment for patients, families and caregivers. The new space will feature dedicated areas for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown care, intensive care, epilepsy monitoring, additional operating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG, sleep and rehabilitation services. Begin your nursing career in a supportive, specialized environment designed to help you succeed. Through a comprehensive residency program and dedicated mentorship, new graduate nurses gain the knowledge, confidence and experience needed to provide exceptional perioperative care. Participate in a residency core curriculum based on surgery core learning needs. Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach. Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability). Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk. Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently. Document in patients’ medical records.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- New graduate RN or less than one year of RN experience
