New Graduate RN Residency Winter 2026
About The Position
The Winter 2026 New Graduate RN Residency Program is designed for individuals who are graduating with their Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May or August of 2026 and have little to no prior RN/LPN work experience (less than 6 months). This program offers a unique opportunity to begin a career in nursing within a supportive environment. All resident positions are for the NIGHT SHIFT ONLY, with orientation on the day shift and a transition to the night shift within the first six months. The program requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 and applicants must indicate their top two areas of preference in their cover letter from a list of specialized units.
Requirements
- New Graduate RN with no prior RN/LPN work experience or less than 6 months of LPN/RN experience.
- BSN new graduates who graduated in May or August of 2026.
- Graduating with their Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Current American Heart Association BLS for the healthcare provider certification is required upon entering the program and it must be valid for a minimum of 3 months post the start date of the program.
- Successfully obtain a New Jersey Registered Nurse License (not just the license number) by at least two weeks before the residency start date.

- If you plan on working in New Jersey, it is strongly recommended that you take the NCLEX in New Jersey due to license reciprocity taking approximately 3 months to receive.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to a wide variety of patients' ages and clinical conditions.
- Work in specialized units such as Emergency Department, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Float Pool, Cardiac Telemetry, Cardiac Stepdown, ICU, IMC, Oncology, Neurology, Geriatrics/Pulmonary, and Women's and Children's Services.
- Act as a patient advocate and use a holistic approach to patient care delivery.
- Manage the care of post-procedural patients, post-cardiac surgery patients, and patients requiring cardiac medication infusions.
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients within Critical Care.
- Care for oncology and hematology patients, including chemotherapy and palliative care.
- Care for neurology patients, including post-stroke and status epilepticus.
- Deliver expert care to geriatric patients with complex medical conditions, including NICHE geriatric care and pulmonary expertise.
- Provide direct nursing care in Women's and Children's areas such as NICU.
