New Graduate Respiratory Therapist - Full-time

About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist provides inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery at a critical illness recovery hospital. The role provides compassionate respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. New graduates receive an extensive orientation program to support their transition into the hospital setting, along with career-development opportunities including a clinical ladder, tuition reimbursement, and continuing education.

Requirements

Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma (preferred), or high school transcript or diploma, or GED.
Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Hold current state licensure.
Obtain ACLS within six months of hire. Agency RTs must have ACLS before their first shift; PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

Nice To Haves

One year of related experience is preferred.
College transcript or diploma as proof of graduation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
Promote continuous quality improvement.
Teach and counsel patients and families.
