About The Position
Mercy Fort Smith, Arkansas offers a transition-to-practice Nurse residency program designed to support newly licensed nurses as they transition from student to confident and independent professional nursing practice. This structured, evidence-based program offers comprehensive and individualized department orientation, hands-on clinical training, and ongoing mentorship to ensure a smooth and successful entry into their professional career. The program provides collaboration with experienced preceptors, targeted educational sessions, and a supportive environment that fosters critical thinking, clinical judgment, and professional growth. Opportunities are available within various departments including Cardiac Critical Care/ICU, Stepdown, Critical Care/Medical ICU, Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, Medical Surgical, Medical/Telemetry, Mother/Baby, Neuro, NICU, Observation, Oncology, and Ortho.
Requirements
- 12 months or less of nursing experience.
- Nursing Degree from an accredited school.
- Temporary Nursing Arkansas license or nursing compact license.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities

- Offer hands-on clinical training.
