This advanced building brings every stage of care under one roof, featuring dedicated spaces for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown, ICU and epilepsy monitoring, as well as additional operating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG, sleep and rehabilitation services. Cleveland Clinic Children’s Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (M52) is a specialized 9-bed unit dedicated to the care of patients with seizure disorders. The team provides advanced monitoring and treatment for children undergoing seizure evaluation, post-surgical seizure focus removal, and medication management. Each year, more than 2,000 pediatric epilepsy patients are supported through outpatient care, reflecting the program’s depth of expertise and reach. Using advanced technology and a collaborative approach, caregivers deliver precise diagnoses, effective treatments, and compassionate care helping improve quality of life for patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
  • New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
