About The Position

The Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is seeking a multilingual faculty member for a position in the Department of Psychology as a Neuropsychologist. This role involves developing a program for neuropsychological services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Key responsibilities include conducting neuropsychological assessments and diagnostics, providing clinical training in neuropsychology for interns and fellows, and establishing a program of clinical research. A unique aspect of this position is the development of a program utilizing practice extenders or psychometrists for direct testing, with the licensed psychologist focusing on diagnostics, interpretation, training, and research. All duties require multilingual capabilities. Clinical referrals originate from schools, physicians, and community agencies, with typical presenting concerns including brain tumor and treatment, TBI/concussion, epilepsy, seizure disorders, and genetic/developmental disorders. The position offers institute-based coordination of clinical care and interdisciplinary research. The MMI Psychology department is a collaborative environment focused on integrating training and research with clinical service delivery, with a strong emphasis on education and supervision through an APA-accredited internship program and a postdoctoral fellowship program. While grounded in a behavioral orientation, the department welcomes diverse theoretical perspectives. Faculty are encouraged to pursue clinical research aligned with the department's mission. MMI itself is a comprehensive center for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, dedicated to transforming lives through outreach, education, research, and patient care, operating as an interdisciplinary team across its four pillars. MMI is one of eight academic units of UNMC, with a significant budget, employee base, and extensive clinical services provided annually. It is a designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) and hosts a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program, offering numerous opportunities for clinical programming, research, and community engagement.
