Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operating room environment
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Biological Sciences, or related field
  • Graduate of an ABRET-recognized NIOM program

Responsibilities

  • Perform intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IOM) procedures under supervision
  • Assist with case setup, signal acquisition, and waveform interpretation
  • Apply and maintain electrodes while ensuring patient safety and skin integrity
  • Troubleshoot equipment and technical issues in real time
  • Maintain compliance with electrical safety and infection control standards
  • Communicate findings promptly to supervising neurologists and surgical teams
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary clinical teams
  • Provide clear explanations and compassionate support to patients and families
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and educational sessions
  • Participate in ongoing training, education, and competency development
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to HIPAA standards
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental goals
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and accountability in all responsibilities
