About The Position

In this project, the Neurologist will apply expertise in neurology to fine-tune large language models. The role draws on knowledge of neurological diagnostics, neurodegenerative diseases, and complex neurological care to help AI systems provide accurate, empathetic, and safe medical reasoning. The Neurologist will design and solve advanced clinical scenarios, evaluate AI-generated responses, identify gaps in the models’ understanding across neurology subspecialties, and collaborate with AI researchers and medical peers. The role also provides structured expert feedback to inform AI development for clinical and educational applications. This is a fully remote contractor or freelance engagement for 20–40 hours per week, with a minimum of four hours per day and some overlap with Pacific Time. The initial duration is one month, with a possible extension. The engagement does not include medical or paid leave.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent.
  • Active practice within the last 3+ years.
  • Board certification or equivalent qualification in Neurology.
  • Strong grasp of neurological medicine, including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neurodegenerative diseases, and neurodiagnostics such as EEG, EMG, and neuroimaging.
  • Ability to articulate complex medical reasoning in clear, patient-friendly language.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Commitment of 20–40 hours per week, with a minimum of four hours per day and overlap with Pacific Time.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with digital medical tools.
  • Education from a top-tier institution, with Harvard, Stanford, UCSF, and Oxford given as examples.

Responsibilities

  • Design and solve advanced clinical scenarios reflecting neurology practice, including stroke management, seizure disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and neuroimmunology.
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses for diagnostic accuracy, clinical judgment, and evidence-based reasoning in neurological medicine.
  • Identify gaps in AI understanding across neurology subspecialties, including movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, and headache medicine.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers and medical peers to improve model quality and reliability.
  • Provide structured expert feedback to inform AI development for clinical and educational applications.
