About The Position
The Neurologist will provide locum tenens coverage for an inpatient pediatric epilepsy service in Charleston, South Carolina, from November 2, 2026, through November 9, 2026. The role provides 24-hour coverage, with on-site work during the day shift and availability for nightly call. The physician will manage epilepsy monitoring unit patients and interpret inpatient and outpatient EEGs. The average volume is 18 EEG interpretations per day and 4–6 epilepsy patients per week. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.
Requirements
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology through ABPN.
- An active South Carolina medical license is required.
- Experience in pediatric epilepsy and EEG interpretation is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour coverage for the inpatient pediatric epilepsy service.
- Manage patients in the epilepsy monitoring unit, averaging 4–6 patients per week.
- Interpret inpatient and outpatient EEGs, averaging 8 inpatient and 10 outpatient interpretations per day.
- Be on site during the day shift and available for call nightly.
- Complete hospital modules and EPIC personalization.
