We are recruiting a neurologist with subspecialty training in Behavioral Neurology to join the University of British Columbia Neurology Division and the UBC Hospital Clinic for Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders. The successful candidate will diagnose and manage patients with cognitive symptoms and dementia, including neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, and related disorders. It is anticipated that Behavioral Neurology clinic space will be available for 2–3 days per week. The candidate must be committed to teaching and education. Participation in or initiation of clinical research and clinical trials in cognitive neurology and dementia is strongly encouraged, and a research background is prioritized. The candidate will also be expected to participate actively as a ward manager and as a consult manager for general neurology services at the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), as well as participating on the on-call roster for general neurology. The Vancouver General Hospital is the main tertiary care hospital in B.C. for complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Both UBCH and VGH are teaching hospitals. The VGH/UBC Hospitals are served by approximately 60 neurologists. We serve a large and extremely diverse patient population. We have a large neurology residency program. Most clinical service programs have post-graduate fellows. This is a clinical position. Remuneration is on a Fee for Service basis. The candidate will be encouraged to maintain a private practice. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
