The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II or III performs neurodiagnostic procedures, including electroencephalograms (EEGs), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and assistance with electromyography (EMG) procedures. The role supports accurate data acquisition, patient safety, equipment maintenance, physician support, and timely documentation while providing patient-centered care. Technologists perform routine and specialized EEG studies according to established protocols, conduct NCS independently within their training and credentialing, assist physicians during EMG procedures, and recognize, document, and correct technical artifacts. The Technologist II ensures studies meet quality standards before physician interpretation. The Technologist III also conducts quality audits, serves as a resource for difficult studies and complex EMG workflows, and precepts and mentors team members, students, and trainees. Both levels maintain equipment and perform routine calibration and quality control, demonstrate age-specific competencies for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, complete documentation accurately and promptly, and demonstrate commitment to organizational values and patient experience goals. The Technologist III additionally assists with implementing new equipment, testing modalities, and workflow improvements, and collaborates with neurologists and referring providers to improve service delivery and patient access. The position is full-time, scheduled 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and includes one week of call per month.
