About The Position

Ascension St John is looking for a Neurocritical Care APP for our night shift team. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St John to provide medical services to patients. The role involves rounding in the neurotrauma ICU, working with a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and being trained and supported in all areas of neurocritical care including stroke, neurology, and trauma. There is an opportunity to perform multiple types of procedures within a collegial team environment. Experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. For incumbents working in Kansas-based facilities, licensure through the Kansas Board of Nursing will be required.
  • Master's degree of Nursing required.

Nice To Haves

  • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination.
  • Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies.
  • Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
