About The Position

Performs limited neurodiagnostic studies, providing direct patient care and evaluating outcomes. Assesses patients as appropriate for procedures and performs all neurodiagnostic studies under supervision according to policy and procedure, and as directed by the interpreting physician. Monitors patients during and after procedures, evaluating results and patient response, and taking action accordingly. Ensures safety measures for patients undergoing procedures, monitors quality control of equipment, and participates in continuing quality improvement in the assigned division. Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded. Assumes responsibility for equipment in the assigned area and reports any malfunctions. Participates in CQI activities and performs special quality control duties as assigned. Communicates patient/family healthcare needs to the appropriate healthcare provider, reports variances or significant events/results to the appropriate caregiver, and corroborates patients' clinical history with the procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • Two years of college coursework in a healthcare field
  • 3 years of experience as a MST, nursing assistant or similar clinical experience
  • Performing neurodiagnostic studies such as various EEG's or nerve conduction studies
