About The Position

Link Solutions is seeking a Networking Administrator (Intermediate-Level) to support the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Information Technology Modernization and Support Services program in Adelphi, MD. This role requires an understanding of enterprise network architecture, layer 2/3 switching, routing protocols, and network security standards. The administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, performance, and security of the network infrastructure. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have Top Secret Clearance
  • AA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or two (2+) years of relevant experience working in an IT enterprise network engineering field.
  • IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
  • CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership in managing complex network environments, including DoD networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), security standards (802.1X, 802.11, MAC bridging), and media access control systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in network segmentation, traffic management, and secure network architecture design.
  • In-depth knowledge of network tools, monitoring platforms, and documentation best practices.
  • Ability to plan and implement large-scale network configurations and upgrades while minimizing downtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 certification
  • Experience with incident management within the ServiceNow Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platform.
  • Familiarity with NIST, STIG, RMF, and Federal Information Systems Controls.
  • Working knowledge of hardware configuration management tools and logistics tracking systems.
  • Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.
  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
  • A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage network performance, availability, and security.
  • Implement and enforce network security procedures and best practices to comply with DoD regulations.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network-related software and hardware systems, including Layer 2/3 switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and encryption devices.
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
  • Work with IP-based networking environments, including IPv4/IPv6 and IPSec VPNs.
  • Maintain knowledge of and apply standards related to 802.1x, 802.11, MAC bridging, traffic management, and data encryption.
  • Evaluate, develop, and sustain telecommunications infrastructure and ensure conformance with organizational IT policies and objectives.
  • Train users on basic network operations and escalate advanced issues to senior personnel when necessary.
