About The Position
Semper Valens is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator with strong Kubernetes experience to help design, operate, and support our production environment. This role bridges traditional systems administration functions and modern cloud-native operations, ensuring systems reliability, scalability, and security across critical mission platforms. You will work closely with developers, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams to support the adoption of Kubernetes clusters, automating infrastructure, and maintain high-availability/high-stability environments.
Requirements
- 10 years of IT systems administrative experience with both Microsoft and Linux platforms.
- Two years proficient understanding of maintenance (patching, STIG, and upgrade processes) on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- IAT-Level-II Certified
- Demonstrated experience and/or training in system administration and development best practices in AWS.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and adopting Kubernetes in production environments.
- Experience with container technologies (Docker).
- Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and Linux.
- Demonstratable experience with Helm, Terraform, Ansible, Vault, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, and Kustomize.
- IAT Level II – Security+ & CISSP
Nice To Haves
- AWS Solutions Architect certification
- AWS SysOps Administrator certification
- Red Hat certification
- 5 years' experience in CI/CD SW development
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or similar)
Responsibilities
