About The Position

The System Administrator supports enterprise IT operations by maintaining, securing, and optimizing systems across on-premises and cloud-based environments. This role ensures the stability, performance, and security of critical infrastructure, collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions, and contributes directly to the organization’s mission through high-quality system support and administration. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of operating systems, programming/scripting languages, enterprise backup procedures, and system performance tools.
  • Experience working with large-scale distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, virtualization, network traffic analysis, content delivery, and caching technologies.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and project management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration or related technical roles.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Security+, Network+, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications, VMware, Splunk or similar certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform server administration tasks including user/group management, security permissions, group policies, and print services.
  • Investigate and resolve event-log warnings/errors; monitor system resources to ensure seamless performance.
  • Monitor cloud and data-center environments; build, test, and maintain servers as required.
  • Maintain infrastructure including laptops, desktops, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, and security updates.
  • Support LANs, WANs, internet, intranet, and segmented networks.
  • Enable more efficient business processes by developing analytics and insights.
  • Assist teams with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; provide technical support when needed.
  • Perform routine and scheduled audits, including backup verification.
  • Collaborate with security personnel to evaluate and mitigate risks.
  • Communicate project status, activities, and achievements to internal and external partners.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  • Submit Monthly Status Reports on a regular basis, as required.
  • Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
