ARCHITECT - Advanced Networking Domain

Happiest Minds•Orlando, FL

About The Position

The Network & Voice Architect designs, governs, and optimizes enterprise network and voice infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. The role calls for expertise in enterprise LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, VoIP, SIP, SBCs, unified communications, Microsoft Teams Phone, and contact-center environments. The architect works with infrastructure, cloud, security, collaboration, telecom, application, service delivery, and operations teams to deliver secure, resilient, scalable, and highly available solutions. The role covers network and cloud architecture, enterprise voice and unified communications, SIP and SBC solutions, contact-center call routing, voice quality and QoS, network security, branch connectivity, high availability, disaster recovery, technical standards, and design governance. It also provides technical leadership for transformation initiatives, major incidents, root-cause analysis, and the development of network and voice engineering staff.

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of experience in enterprise networking and voice/unified communications.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in solution architecture or technical design roles.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Expertise in VoIP, SIP, SBCs, unified communications, Microsoft Teams Phone, and contact-center environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data-center network architectures using technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VRF, QoS, NAT, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Design resilient, highly available network infrastructure with redundancy and failover; conduct capacity planning and recommend availability, performance, and scalability improvements.
  • Develop and review High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, network topology diagrams, implementation standards, and architecture standards for branches, data centers, remote locations, and cloud environments.
  • Design networking for Microsoft Azure, AWS, and hybrid-cloud environments, including connectivity through ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, site-to-site VPN, SD-WAN, and IPsec.
  • Design cloud networking using VNets/VPCs, subnets, routing, NSGs/security groups, and cloud firewalls; support cloud migration and data-center transformation initiatives.
  • Define connectivity patterns linking on-premises infrastructure, cloud workloads, SaaS services, and enterprise voice platforms.
  • Design and maintain enterprise VoIP and unified communications architecture, including Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, SIP/SIP trunking, SBCs, and PSTN connectivity.
  • Design dial plans, call routing, numbering plans, voice resiliency, and voice connectivity across offices, remote locations, cloud services, and contact centers.
  • Architect SBC solutions, including AudioCodes, Ribbon, or equivalent platforms; design SIP trunk connectivity among carriers, enterprise PBXs, Teams Phone, and contact-center platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex SIP call flows, codec negotiation, call routing, and interoperability issues; define redundancy and disaster-recovery architecture for critical voice components.
  • Design inbound and outbound contact-center call-routing strategies, including IVR, call queues, auto attendants, skill-based routing, overflow/failover routing, and business-hours/after-hours routing.
  • Provide architecture support for platforms such as Genesys Cloud, Cisco Contact Center, NICE CXone, Microsoft Teams contact-center integrations, or equivalent technologies.
  • Define QoS policies for voice and video, address voice-quality issues involving latency, jitter, packet loss, MOS, one-way audio, and dropped calls, and plan voice and collaboration capacity and bandwidth.
  • Perform end-to-end troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, SBCs, SIP trunks, PSTN carriers, and cloud voice platforms.
  • Work with security architects to incorporate security controls into network and voice designs; design secure segmentation and communication paths and support NGFW, IDS/IPS, VPN, ZTNA, and SASE technologies.
  • Ensure firewall and NAT policies support SIP, SBC, Teams, and other voice services; apply Zero Trust principles where relevant.
  • Design and govern enterprise SD-WAN architecture; optimize WAN connectivity for voice, video, and business-critical applications and define link redundancy, failover, and traffic-prioritization strategies.
  • Design network and voice solutions for high availability and disaster recovery; identify single points of failure, define carrier/circuit/SBC/PSTN/network redundancy, and develop failover strategies.
  • Participate in disaster-recovery testing and architecture reviews.
  • Serve as technical design authority and SME for enterprise network and voice solutions; review designs proposed by engineering teams, vendors, and telecom providers.
  • Define technical standards, reference architectures, and engineering guidelines; lead technical discussions for complex infrastructure transformation initiatives.
  • Support major-incident troubleshooting and perform or review root-cause analyses for recurring network and voice incidents.
  • Mentor network and voice engineers.
