About The Position

Technicians handle a wide range of installations, repairs, breakfix and upgrades for retail security products, including POS systems, networks, networked devices, access points, routers, switches, and RFID smart lock access. They also set up and troubleshoot connections in various environments, connecting devices with physical cables or wireless frequencies to ensure adequate signal strength for clients. This role is suitable for Flexible Freelancers or Small Business Owners with weekday availability, as the company can work around other commitments.

Requirements

• Current Driver’s License, insurance, and a vehicle.
• Previous IT or Related technical technician experience.
• Technically inclined – experience with Cabling runs/management/testing/terminating.
• Excellent communication skills via phone, text, and email.
• Possession of a Smart Phone mobile device.
• Flexible availability.
• Frequent use of hand tools.
• Travel is required in various markets.
• Ability to lift 60lbs or more.
• Able to climb up and down ladders.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Superior knowledge of various networking technologies.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Aptitude for customer support.
• Over the age of 18.

Nice To Haves

• Retail Field, POS, Smart Lock Access & Network technician experience.
• Certifications are a plus but not required.
• POS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle installations, repairs, breakfix, and upgrades for retail security products.
• Install and upgrade POS systems, networks, networked devices, access points, routers, and switches.
• Work with RFID smart lock access systems.
• Set up and troubleshoot connections in various environments.
• Connect devices using physical cables or wireless frequencies.
• Ensure adequate signal strength for clients.
• Perform network provisioning.
• Test networks, Wi-Fi signals, and perform heat mapping.
• Install and troubleshoot access points, routers, and switches.
