About The Position

You will play a crucial role in technical support functions at USPS. We are seeking a seasoned Network Control Technician to join our team. This candidate will play a critical role in providing technical assistance and training to end users.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-7 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University is preferred.
  • If the candidate does not possess a relevant four-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work experience will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical assistance and training to end-users.
  • Complex hardware and software support responsibilities, as well as increased skills in such areas as troubleshooting, application support, hardware installation, hardware/software integration, evaluation of vendor software packages, interface with external hardware/software vendors, or customer service responsibilities.
  • Primary Technical Support for end users, including off-hours support.
  • Installs, modifies, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots personal computer hardware and software
  • Installs, configures, and maintains peripheral equipment (e.g. printers, scanners, monitors, keyboards, IP phones, etc.).
  • Physical maintenance of networking equipment (Wireless Access Points, Cisco switches, ethernet cabling), including replacing failed access points and network switches.
  • Diagnoses hardware, software, and end-user problems and takes remedial actions.
  • Assists with the implementation of procedural changes.
  • Install, modify, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot application related software, including, but not limited to, Microsoft products, Oracle Products, Developer Tools (Git, UFT, SQLDeveloper, etc.), virus protection, and general office automation.
