About The Position

WGS Systems, LLC, is looking for Engineering Technicians with backgrounds in aerospace and defense electronic system and product design, and fabrication, to join our company in Frederick, Maryland. Successful candidates will have prior experience with airborne platform integration, troubleshooting, and testing and/or experience with complex electronic component assembly, troubleshooting and test. Must be capable of reading and following assembly drawings and wiring diagrams correctly as well as have excellent mechanical and electrical assembly skills. WGS Systems, LLC, based in Frederick, Maryland, provides systems and products that support our military and homeland security front line personnel. We have been recognized as a small-business industry leader by the state of Maryland by winning the Homeland Security Award from the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. Our offerings include signal collection and processing systems; first responder protection systems; airborne and ground-based systems development; multiple sensor integration; radar, imagery, and signal exploitation systems integration; advanced computing and networking architecture development; and communication systems. Requirements

  • Candidate must be a United States citizen and will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • AA technical degree or equivalent military/technical training, at least 4 years of applicable experience or 6 years applicable experience in lieu of education requirements
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and support system
  • Have proficiency in the use of electronic and mechanical tools
  • RF and electrical test equipment and measurements experience
  • Ability to read and work with schematics and wiring diagrams, as well as mechanical drawings.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Windows-based applications

Nice To Haves

  • IPC-610, 620 and J-STD Certifications desired
  • Prior experience with ground and airborne systems desired
  • Linux experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Airborne platform and ground-based system integration and testing
  • Electrical and Mechanical assembly and test of complex electronics
  • Close interaction with multiple engineering disciplines
  • Provide system integration support to prime and sub-contractors
  • Conduct laboratory and field testing of components and systems
  • Line replaceable unit troubleshooting and debugging
  • Test results data collection and plan/report writing
  • Electrical drafting
  • Maintain AS9100D processes
  • Other duties as assigned
