About The Position

Acclaim Technical Services is seeking a Network Systems Engineer with a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance to design, develop, and optimize high-performance, scalable on-premise systems and cloud networking solutions. The role troubleshoots complex distributed systems and supports seamless systems and cloud connectivity for customers. It spans the full development lifecycle, including designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and monitoring critical services, with an ongoing focus on performance, security, and reliability in a cloud-native environment. The engineer will frequently create scripts to automate complex, non-traditional business-unit tasks; configure and manage routing and switching infrastructure; and automate network provisioning and configuration with tools such as Python and Ansible. The role requires technical documentation of network and cloud system designs, configurations, and procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively in small, agile teams with limited direction.

Requirements

TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
At least 6 years of professional experience engineering solutions and supporting carrier-grade IP-based ISP, Webscale, and data center network environments.
At least 6 years of software engineering experience, ideally in cloud services or network-related development using Python, Java, or other languages.
At least 6 years of experience designing or provisioning virtual cloud networks.
Advanced experience with internet routing protocols and concepts, including IP, BGP, iBGP, EGP, MPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, IPSEC, NAT, and Linux networking stacks.
Advanced experience in capacity management, traffic engineering, and performance optimization, including network operating systems such as Cisco IOS/NX-OS, PAN-OS, and Arista EOS.
Advanced knowledge of configuring network switches for throughput performance and redundancy.
Advanced knowledge of IP addressing, CIDR, and RFC 1918 strategy and implementation best practices, with the ability to perform protocol and packet analysis of traffic flows.
Working understanding of Python, Ansible, Chef, Docker, JSON, REST, and YAML.
Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum.
Experience operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
Experience with distributed systems or hybrid cloud environments.
Experience with Python and Java.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and network lifecycle management (LCM) programs.
Demonstrated critical thinking, a desire and ability to learn quickly, and the ability to work in very small teams with incomplete project information and little direction.
Ability to deliver quality work under pressure and on quick turnaround timelines while adhering to corporate guidelines.
Respect for need-to-know requirements; self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable in an agile, fast-moving team.
