About The Position

The Network & Systems Engineer builds, automates, and scales critical infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations. The role implements, automates, and standardizes enterprise network and systems infrastructure across multi-cloud and on-premises environments, using automation frameworks and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible to create repeatable platforms and reduce configuration drift. The engineer troubleshoots complex distributed environments using techniques such as packet captures and centralized log analysis and helps ensure system resiliency. The position independently translates high-level strategic technical architectures into precise implementations with minimal day-to-day oversight. It champions standardized designs across engineering teams and ensures deployments follow baseline architectural patterns, compliance standards, and documentation requirements. The work involves collaboration in cross-functional Agile teams and supports infrastructure for critical national missions.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations.
  • Experience with enterprise networking concepts, including routing, switching, subnets, firewalls, and segmentation.
  • Experience developing automation and configuration management solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Python.
  • Experience deploying, managing, and maintaining workloads across cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience supporting and integrating CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex, multi-tiered systems using network packet capture tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump and centralized log analysis tools.
  • Ability to interpret high-level strategic architectural designs and translate them into standardized, production-ready implementations with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional Agile teams while enforcing architectural standards, configuration consistency, and documentation baselines.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves
