About The Position

Quantum Sky is hiring a Network Specialist to support its NE&S contract at Altus AFB, Oklahoma. The role supports the Department of Defense Defense Health Agency LAN/WAN by maintaining network infrastructure and providing on-site troubleshooting and problem resolution. The specialist supports network operations across a medical network campus and works with routing and switching equipment, firewalls, and cabling. The position requires an active Secret clearance or higher.

Requirements

Understand OSI Model Layers 1–3, including TCP/IP, VTP, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and EIA/TIA cable standards.
Be familiar with firewall and VPN technologies.
Have strong network experience maintaining switches and routers and troubleshooting LAN/WAN problems.
Have good knowledge of general security methodologies.
Have strong oral and written communication skills.
Have a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 3 years of related experience; alternatively, complete a certification program at a technical or vocational school and have 8 years of related experience.
Comply with DoD Directive 8570.01, Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management requirements.
Hold a Security+ CE certification.
Hold an active Secret clearance or higher.

Nice To Haves

Current CCNA or Juniper/Brocade equivalent certification.
DoD and/or medical network experience.

Responsibilities

Provide daily operational support for LAN core and edge switches across the medical network campus.
Resolve technical issues involving network and routing protocols across all OSI model layers using diagnostic and network administration tools.
Support routing and switching equipment, firewalls, and associated cabling across the network infrastructure.
Plan, install, and support hardware and software upgrades, and resolve related technical issues.
