About The Position

Quantum Sky is seeking a Network Specialist to support its NE&S contract at the Naval Hospital in Guam. The role supports the Department of Defense Defense Health Agency LAN/WAN by maintaining network infrastructure and providing on-site troubleshooting and problem resolution. The specialist provides operational support for the medical campus network, resolves network and routing issues, supports routing and switching equipment, firewalls, and cabling, and plans and supports hardware and software upgrades.

Requirements

• Understand OSI Model Layers 1–3, including TCP/IP, VTP, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and EIA/TIA cable standards.
• Be familiar with firewall and VPN technologies.
• Have strong network experience maintaining switches and routers and troubleshooting LAN/WAN problems.
• Have good knowledge of general security methodologies.
• Have strong oral and written communication skills.
• Have a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 3 years of related experience; alternatively, complete a certification program at a technical or vocational school and have 8 years of related experience.
• Comply with DoD Directive 8570.01, Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management requirements.
• Hold a Security+ CE certification.
• Hold an active Secret clearance or higher.

Nice To Haves

• Current CCNA or Juniper/Brocade equivalent.
• DoD and/or medical network experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily operational support for LAN core and edge switches across the medical network campus.
• Resolve technical issues associated with network and routing protocols across all levels of the OSI model using diagnostic and network administration tools.
• Provide network infrastructure support for routing and switching equipment, firewalls, and associated cabling.
• Plan, install, and support hardware and software upgrades, and resolve associated technical issues.
