About The Position

The Network & Security Director supports the Vice President of Technology in overseeing the IT department’s operations, infrastructure, and security. This role provides technical leadership in the design, implementation, and support of enterprise systems while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Manage and support key platforms and technologies, including: VMware (Broadcom) & Omnissa Horizon, Microsoft Windows Servers & Workstations, Cisco networking equipment (routers/switches), FortiGate Firewalls and VeloCloud SD-WAN, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
  • Ensure system reliability, availability, scalability, and security to support business continuity.
  • Lead disaster recovery, backup, and system resilience initiatives.
  • Oversee infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users, minimizing disruption and maintaining high service standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement and align ITSM/ITIL frameworks, including incident, problem, change, and asset management.
  • Lead complex infrastructure and system initiatives, including modernization and digital transformation projects.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify risks, communicate effectively, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Support security assessments, audits, and risk mitigation efforts aligned with NIST CSF 2.0.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and emerging threats.
  • Oversee identity and access management (IAM), endpoint protection, and data loss prevention (DLP).
  • Maintain a strong security posture while ensuring system performance and availability.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to IT staff.
  • Partner with credit union leadership to assess needs, recommend solutions, and allocate resources.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Communicate departmental goals and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement across systems, processes, and services.
  • Serve in the capacity of the VP of Technology in their absence.
  • Maintain and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, audit, and internal requirements.
  • Support backup processes, system security, and operational continuity.
  • Deliver high-quality IT service and support to all staff.
  • Contribute to overall organizational effectiveness and team collaboration.
  • Identify potential issues and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Provide backup support to team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • As an essential business employee, report to work as required during emergency declarations.
