About The Position

The Network Security Analyst serves as a security expert responsible for implementing, reviewing, and maintaining security controls for company networks, switches, and servers. The role supports corporate cloud and on-premise infrastructure, administers network resources, diagnoses infrastructure issues, deploys and manages updates, and sets up new server instances. The position also maintains and improves Windows and Linux infrastructure, including server-based applications and infrastructure services. It involves investigating security incidents, hardening systems, automating infrastructure tasks, monitoring performance, documenting systems, and communicating technical findings to peers, supervisors, customers, staff, and management.

Requirements

At least two years of progressive experience working with and managing on-premise infrastructure and/or cloud infrastructure.
Previous experience using issue tracking software such as JIRA or an equivalent.
Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and administering Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong system and security analysis skills.
Knowledge of infrastructure services and how they interoperate.
Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration, including command-line tools such as PowerShell and Bash.
Ability to write scripts to automate tasks and orchestrate updates and application deployments.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to innovative technologies.
Attention to detail and ability to ensure work is complete and exact.
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
Ability to multitask.
Self-starter able to manage their own time.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer engineering, MIS, or a related field.
Related subject-area certifications such as MCSE, A+, Network+, Server+, Linux+, RHCSA, or Security+.

Responsibilities

Investigate and remediate network security incidents.
Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data and infrastructure.
Provision and maintain networks in alignment with security policies.
Maintain and administer infrastructure environments, including systems software, applications software, and configurations.
Configure, monitor, and maintain server-based applications.
Install, configure, and administer Windows Server and Linux systems, including server roles, services, storage, and user permissions.
Harden server configurations against industry benchmarks such as CIS Benchmarks and enforce least-privilege access.
Manage Windows infrastructure services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
Administer Linux server components, including package management, SSH, host-based firewalls, and system services.
Apply and manage operating system patches and updates across Windows and Linux servers.
Monitor infrastructure performance and coordinate network access and use.
Create and maintain scripts that automate infrastructure tasks and support infrastructure orchestration.
Collect, receive, and analyze network information from various sources and communicate results to peers, supervisors, and customers.
Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
Improve infrastructure by writing and maintaining documentation.
Improve system performance by identifying problems and recommending changes.
Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper management of cloud infrastructure.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
