About The Position

The Network Facilities and Optimization Decom (NFOD) PMO is seeking Network Project Managers to lead implementation of the VZT Facility Decommission process. The role manages strategic consolidation, relocation, and decommissioning of non-directional buildings and associated leases to reduce the company’s footprint and costs. It also leads process creation and continuous improvement, with the goal of improving facility-exit SLAs from a project and program management perspective.

The position oversees end-to-end facility decommissioning workflows, monitors and reports on programs, and drives improvements across cross-functional teams. It uses analytics on optical and TDM circuit utilization, third-party lease evaluations, and energy consumption, focusing primarily on VZT while incorporating Telecommunication and Product networks. The role builds stakeholder relationships, creates consensus, and supports successful MSP adoption.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of networks at the device, circuit, and transport levels.
• Working knowledge of network and customer circuit hierarchy and design.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex concepts to stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant industry experience, demonstrated through work, military experience, or specialized training.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with source systems including TIRKS, NAR, Canvas, Smartsheets, and IVAPP.
• Previous experience working on circuit, equipment, or office decommissioning and decom modeling.
• Knowledge of AI toolsets such as Claude or Gemini, or other automation and efficiency tools.
• Data mining and modeling experience using NAR.
• An advanced degree in Program/Project Management, Leadership, or Telecommunications.
• Experience in legacy transport migration planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of the end-to-end Facility Decom Process.
• Monitor and report on programs, drive process improvements, and ensure seamless execution workflows across cross-functional teams.
• Use detailed optical and TDM circuit utilization, third-party lease evaluations, and energy consumption metrics to track progress.
• Focus analytics primarily on VZT while incorporating Telecommunication and Product networks.
• Build stakeholder relationships and drive consensus to ensure successful MSP adoption.
• Lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
• Develop long-term plans aligning network and real estate objectives with broader business goals.
