  • Direct experience overseeing high-capacity network infrastructure upgrades, data center expansion programs, or MPLS transport modernization in mission-critical environments.
  • Proven leadership of cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, architecture, vendor partners, executive stakeholders).
  • Active PMP certification (Project Management Institute) required at time of application — must be verifiable.
  • Demonstrated experience with risk/issue management and mitigation strategy development.
  • Demonstrated experience with testing, validation, and readiness activities (lab validation, pilot deployments, field rollouts, operational acceptance).
  • Demonstrated experience with vendor relationship, SLA, and contract deliverable management.
  • Demonstrated experience with design reviews, status reporting, and cross-functional stakeholder communication.
  • Available on-site a minimum of 4 business days per week for the duration of the engagement.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain required security clearances, badges, and access credentials for a secure facility environment.
  • Specific experience leading at least one project involving one or more of the following: 400G network deployment or upgrades, backbone, optical transport, or core network modernization, MPLS transport modernization, or comparable large-scale network infrastructure transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain master project plans, WBS, schedules, and program roadmaps for a multi-phase network modernization program.
  • Coordinate design reviews and maintain requirements traceability across technical and business teams.
  • Oversee deployment sequencing, lab validation, field rollouts, and production readiness checks.
  • Maintain risk, issue, and dependency registers with mitigation and escalation paths.
  • Coordinate vendor delivery schedules and cross-team alignment.
  • Lead operational readiness reviews, including runbook/SOP updates and monitoring integration.
  • Support hardware lifecycle planning and end-of-service analysis.
