About The Position

JCS Solutions is seeking an experienced Sr. Network & Systems Engineer to support large-scale operations on a high-profile Department of War (DoW) contract at Fort Belvoir, VA. This role supports the I3TS program, which delivers enterprise-wide IT services to DTRA's Information Management & Technology Directorate (ITD). The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for engineering, systems analysis, operational oversight, and strategic modernization initiatives across Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments. This position plays a critical role in ensuring secure, resilient, and mission-focused IT operations for stakeholders throughout CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance at the time of consideration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 8-12 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in a related field and 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent high-level technical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Advanced understanding of enterprise networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Experience supporting enterprise server, storage, and virtualization infrastructures.
  • Experience administering Active Directory in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Experience utilizing enterprise monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices.
  • Current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (such as Security+ CE) or higher prior to start.
  • Ability to support one of the following schedules: Day Shift: 0600-1800 (Sunday-Wednesday), or Night Shift: 1800-0600 (Wednesday-Saturday)

  • Extensive experience in enterprise systems engineering, network architecture, or IT operations management within DoD environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise supporting classified network infrastructures across multiple security domains.
  • Experience developing operational procedures, escalation frameworks, and incident response processes.
  • Strong executive communication and briefing skills with experience presenting technical information to senior leaders and mission stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting global enterprise networks and geographically dispersed user communities.
  • Background working directly with DISA, Combatant Commands, Joint Forces, or other defense organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced systems analysis techniques to advise DTRA leadership and mission partners on enterprise technology solutions, system requirements, capacity planning, and architectural roadmaps.
  • Analyze, document, test, and modify network and server configurations, security controls, and Active Directory environments to align with DoD directives and security baselines.
  • Serve as the 24x7x365 Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) Operations Watch Officer during assigned shifts.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for complex enterprise system and network outages across multiple environments.
  • Develop diagnostic strategies, perform event correlation, and conduct root-cause analysis for high-impact incidents.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to operational procedures, incident response frameworks, and SLA-driven workflows.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party technologies and vendor solutions within enterprise environments.
  • Manage and support configurations within the ServiceNow ITSM framework.
  • Interface directly with mission partners, DISA, Joint Forces, and Combatant Commands regarding operational status, network performance, vulnerabilities, and technical solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver operational briefings, executive summaries, technical reports, and After-Action Reports (AARs) to senior leadership.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to Tier I, II, and III support personnel.
  • Monitor and maintain enterprise network health using DoD-approved monitoring tools, including SolarWinds.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate technical incidents through remote or onsite support as required.
  • Ensure continuous and secure access to enterprise systems supporting mission-critical operations.
