About The Position

The Network Integration Engineer (NIE) will be responsible for assessing, engineering, and implementing changes to client network infrastructure based upon the customer's stated and inferred goals. The role requires strong communication skills, an investigatory capacity, and tolerance for constant change, as client goals may shift. The NIE will need to grasp the overall intent of projects, identify missing information, and work towards securing answers to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • Experience with Samsung 4G/5G/LTE RAN equipment.
  • Proficiency in USM (Unified Samsung Management) for network management.
  • Knowledge of RF design, antenna selection, and microwave technologies.
  • Strong understanding of 5G C-Band and mmWave technologies.
  • Ability to create Methods of Procedure (MOP) for field technicians.
  • Deep knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G NR architectures, including ORAN (Open RAN) and vRAN (virtualized RAN).
  • Experience with network management software (USM, LSM), ticket systems and terminal emulators (SSH).
  • Capability to work in both office environments and on-site at radio tower locations, which may involve lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Understanding of telecommunications networking elements such as routers, switches, ports, and interfaces with the ability to engineer and configure.
  • Understanding of networking protocols.
  • Understanding of looking at status commands, log files, log messages to determine course of action.
  • Understanding of IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Troubleshooting ability to isolate, diagnose, and resolve problems.
  • Ability to write a Method Of Procedure (MOP).
  • 10+ years in a Networking configuration environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performing activation, configuration, and integration of Samsung RAN hardware (small cells/macro) into Carrier environment.
  • Utilizing USM/VLSM tools for daily network monitoring, clearing alarms, and performing root cause analysis for performance degradation.
  • Analyzing KPIs, managing capacity, and improving Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) to enhance 5G/LTE service quality.
  • Partnering with System Performance teams to analyze and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like call quality and data speeds.
  • Overseeing the installation and optimization of wireless hardware, including mmW, vRAN, and C-Band equipment.
  • Running scripts using SSH or PUTTY to configure hardware such as CDU30 eNodeB, VDU, RRH to ensure proper setup.
  • Documenting site configuration changes and network data within internal tools.
