About The Position

We are hiring a Network Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to support the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) National Team Program and the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). This cleared defense networking role requires an active Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, CCNA or JNCIA certification, and DoD IAT Level II / DoD 8570-compliant certification, with hands-on experience supporting Cisco and Juniper LAN/WAN environments, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, firewalls, GRE tunnels, TCP/IP, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment. This role supports implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure for missile defense systems. The Network Engineer will support production environments, resolve complex connectivity and network performance issues, perform remote-site installations, and collaborate with engineering and IT teams on network upgrades and infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have/maintain a valid US passport.
  • Generally has 3+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
  • The position requires an IAT Level II 8570 Compliant Certification such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.
  • This position requires a CCNA or JNCIA certification
  • Must be a proven network engineer with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies.
  • Must have an understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols BGP and OSPF.
  • Must have network traffic analysis, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have firewall experience – especially Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
  • Must have experience in UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs.
  • Must have hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching and routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
  • Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Visio.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure supporting C2BMC and missile defense systems.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices, including Cisco and Juniper Networks equipment.
  • Support reliable connectivity and performance across LAN/WAN environments.
  • Monitor network availability and performance to identify and resolve connectivity, latency, and packet-loss issues.
  • Implement and support VLANs, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, GRE tunnels, UDP multicast, and network security controls.
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document technical resolutions.
  • Support multi-vendor switching and routing environments, WAN optimizers, TACLANEs, SONET, MSPP, and optical transport equipment.
  • Collaborate with senior network engineers and cross-functional IT teams on network design, optimization, upgrades, changes, and infrastructure projects.
  • Travel to remote locations to lead and perform network installations.
  • Independently troubleshoot network issues at remote sites and provide status updates to program personnel.
  • Support critical network and program activities outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Perform additional network engineering tasks required by the program.
