About The Position

The Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies. The Work Candidate will be a primary Network Engineer supporting the C2BMC Program. In this role the candidate will serve as a Network Engineer and Developer supporting network build out and deployments to the operational environment as necessary. The candidate will work within an agile scrum team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements. The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is the integrating element of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense and combatant commanders at strategic, regional and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to collectively see the battle develop, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks, integrates and synchronizes autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is an integral part of all system ground and flight tests which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

Requirements

  • A final secret clearance is required.
  • Must be a proven network engineer with hands-on experience and knowledge of network design, development and testing methodologies.
  • Presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers as well as independently on large field projects.
  • IAT -Level II certification (security +) required or Must be able to obtain it within 90 days of starting.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior C2BMC network experience is highly desired.
  • Knowledge, skill sets, or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (such as Wireshark).
  • Experience with industry vendor certifications from Juniper (JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE) and from Cisco (CCNA, CCNP).
  • Previous experience in authentication & encryption methods/capabilities (TACACS+, Active Directory, GEM-X).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such a VMWare vCenter and vSphere.
  • Familiarization with virtualization is highly desired.
  • Experience with Agile development and related test methodologies.
  • Experience with Automated testing framework, Python, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Hands on experience WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
  • A solid understanding of JUNOS.
