About The Position

As a Network Administrator, you’ll join a top-notch team in support of NAVAIR’s new Simulators at Sea (S@S) system. This system increases aviator readiness and is the first integrated training capability for an air wing to deploy on a Navy carrier. Get in on the ground floor of an exciting DoD initiative!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related IA/CS technology area of study required. Additional, related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 6 years of experience as a network engineer/architect and computer systems administrator.
  • Demonstrated experience using the DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program (IAVMP) is required.
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet, Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI), TCP/IP, CISCO IOS, Inside Plant (ISP), and Outside Plant (OSP).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Visio for LNDs.
  • Candidates must meet DoD 8140-M Intermediate level qualification requirements: BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering - OR - one of the following certifications: CompTia Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTia Cloud+, etc. At a minimum, candidates must hold a Security+ certification (or higher) to be considered.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Multi-Level Security is a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic networking set such as CCNA or equivalent and experience/training with CISCO NX-OS.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing operating systems and network device security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
  • Specifying, configuring, and administering boundary devices (i.e., managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems); managing remote switches and routing.
  • Performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks.
  • Correcting flaws and implementing technical controls in the hardware or software installed within the network environment.
  • Managing, architecting, and implementing physical networks to include logical need to know separation between data.
