About The Position

DirectViz Solutions (DVS) is seeking a Network Security Engineer IV to provide Cybersecurity (CS) engineering support for various Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This role focuses on engineering, acquisition, logistical, and cybersecurity efforts, including system security analysis, secure design, testing and evaluation (T&E), systems assessment, and lifecycle management to support critical defense initiatives. An active Secret clearance is required for this position.

Requirements

Active Secret or higher clearance.
Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering and 10 years of experience OR a PhD and 5 years of experience OR a Masters degree and 8 years of experience in secure network design, STIG implementation, and vulnerability assessment.
Expertise in secure network design, STIG implementation, and vulnerability assessment.
Hands-on experience with Cisco networking devices and security tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills related to network connectivity and security solutions.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Certification at a minimum of IAT Level III, in accordance with DFARS 252.239-7001.
Maintain focus and awareness throughout scheduled working hours.
Perform tasks requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk, utilizing a computer, mouse, and keyboard.
Lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds as needed.
Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.
Demonstrate the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
Quickly learn and retain routine tasks and processes.
Possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, business correspondence proficiency, and self-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, configure, and enforce security controls on network, hardware, and software components.
Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Manage enterprise-level deployment of Active Directory.
Perform vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool.
Configure and secure Cisco networking devices.
Utilize packet analyzer tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump for network monitoring and troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and provide solutions.
Implement and manage firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).
