About The Position

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Defense Logistics Agency's Wide Area Network (WAN) Support Team. Requirements

  • Clearance: Secret with IT-1 Sensitivity
  • Must have five years telecommunications systems experience with at least three years of local or wide area network experience.
  • DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II or higher (one of the following): CCNA-Security CSA+ GICSP GSEC Security+CE SSCP CASP CE CCNP Security CISA CISSP (or Associate) GCED GCIH
  • Computing Environment (one of the following): CCNA
  • US Citizenship
  • Secret

  • Network Protocols and Technologies : Routing and traffic shaping protocols BGP, MPLS, OSPF Remote Access VPN, Site to Site VPN, DMVPN Quality of Service (QoS) implementation and design IPV6 implementation and design 1x and MAB endpoint authentication DNS TACACS+ Radius

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and develops telecommunications networks supporting a wide range of capabilities, including voice, data, video, and/or wireless services
  • Develops designs and plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception to conclusion
  • Analyzes the problem and the characteristics of the information to be transported
  • Defines the problem and develops system requirements and network specifications
  • Closely coordinates with other information system professionals to ensure proper implementation of network services
  • In conjunction with functional users, develops alternative solutions and backup plans
