About The Position

This position is within the Lockheed Martin Enterprise Business and Digital Transformation (EBDT) Classified IT Transformation organization, chartered with transforming IT delivery to Classified programs and environments. Lockheed Martin recognizes the opportunity for significant advancement in the way Classified IT services are delivered to our Business Area partners, enabling them to build better products faster in support of the US Department of Defense mission. The Classified Transformation organization and leadership structure have been put in place, along with significant investment to drive positive changes to both transform and standardize Classified IT delivery. Lockheed Martin is seeking a driven and dedicated team member to support both Manassas and Herndon Lockheed Martin locations. Your experience and expertise will contribute to information technology with a growth mindset mentality, and willingness to learn and acquire skills over time. Your support of the customer demonstration and Lab environment will not only be your greatest asset, but ours as well. You will be a key contributor, providing coaching and knowledge transfer to other team members to assist with skill building over time. The selected candidate will join the Classified IT Transformation team, as a Network Administrator ensuring that the Lockheed Martin networks and IT systems are managed, controlled, and updated in a manner consistent with Lockheed Martin policies and procedures. This includes supporting routine updates, major upgrades, and on-going maintenance and support of the network switches, wireless network and LAN routers including both Classified and Unclassified networks. Overall responsibilities include but are not limited to: The support of Type 1 encryption systems and performance monitoring of the classified network infrastructure, supporting break/fix incidents and supporting various project work within both campuses and remote facilities. Position includes the remediation of vulnerabilities by adhering to customer operating regulations, best practices with supporting documentation of all managed and controlled network assets. This role utilizes troubleshooting skills to provide timely and effective solutions to problems as well as developing technical solutions to complex problems which require consistent use of ingenuity and creativity. All work must be performed on-site, including some off-shift hours, weekends, and occasional travel. The position works a 4x10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) but will also support a 24 X 7 weekly on-call rotation schedule.

Requirements

  • Hands on exposure and experience related to networking and fault isolation
  • Installation and configuration of Cisco and/or Brocade network switches and routers
  • Hands on experience with routing and switching
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of Type 1 network encryption
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting network infrastructure
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, IP configuration, peer-to-peer networking and IP addressing and subnetting
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Knowledge of Cat5/6 wiring
  • The ability to lead projects to completion
  • Must be able to support a rotational 24x7 on-call support model with the ability to be on site within one hour
  • Knowledge of DoD security standards, policies, and procedures
  • TS/SCI eligible
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • TS/SCI Cleared
  • CCNA and/or CCNP certification
  • Experience with DoD SIPRNet
  • General Dynamics TACLANE NSA Type 1 Encryptor experience
  • Knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), JFAN and JSIG
  • Installation and configuration firewall experience
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to successfully work autonomously
