About The Position

Oneida Professional Services is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Defense Information School (DINFOS) Technology & Logistics Support Services contract at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, administration, maintenance, and security of DINFOS network infrastructure supporting academic, administrative, and operational environments. The Network Engineer will work closely with senior engineers and technical teams to maintain network availability, troubleshoot connectivity issues, support cybersecurity initiatives, and implement infrastructure improvements. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and enterprise network operations while contributing to the continued modernization and security of DINFOS information systems. This position is contingent on the award of a federal contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant network engineering or network administration experience. Additional education, certifications, or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, networking hardware, and enterprise networking concepts.
  • Experience implementing, administering, and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and network controllers.
  • Knowledge of network transport technologies, routing protocols, switching technologies, and network architecture principles.
  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment and technologies.
  • Understanding of VLAN implementation and administration in enterprise network environments utilizing both copper and fiber infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting network security requirements and implementing security-focused network solutions.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery, continuity of operations (COOP), and backup and restoration processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active Secret Clearance preferred.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to successfully complete all background investigation requirements associated with a Tier 3 (Non-Critical Sensitive) position.
  • Foundational qualification for applicable DoD 8140 network and information technology work roles is highly desirable.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent networking certification.
  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, or other relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, military, federal government, or educational organizations.
  • Experience with network monitoring, performance management, and infrastructure management tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking technologies and hybrid environments.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance initiatives and security assessments.
  • Knowledge of enterprise wireless network design and management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless networks, and related network services.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points (WAPs), and controllers.
  • Assist with network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity, routing, switching, and performance issues.
  • Support implementation of VLAN architectures across copper and fiber network environments.
  • Assist with network security initiatives and implementation of security controls and best practices.
  • Participate in disaster recovery, continuity of operations (COOP), backup, and restoration activities.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, procedures, and configuration records.
  • Research emerging technologies and provide recommendations for network improvements and modernization efforts.
  • Coordinate with systems administrators, cybersecurity personnel, service desk technicians, and government stakeholders to support operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, procedures, and standards.
