Sigma Defense is seeking a Network Engineer IV to support our team in San Diego, CA. This role involves maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting CTU 4 tactical hardware and associated network components, performing system updates, patching, baseline management, and configuration control. The position also supports virtualization, enclave routing, cross-domain interfaces, and tactical data paths. Additionally, the Network Engineer IV will provide direct technical support to shipboard ITs during Fleet training evolutions, conduct pier side and underway testing of CTU 4 components, and validate system readiness prior to major Fleet exercises and deployment workups. Cybersecurity responsibilities include supporting RMF artifacts, STIG application, HBSS/ACAS compliance, and vulnerability remediation, ensuring CTU 4 components meet Navy cybersecurity and accreditation requirements, and supporting Zero Trust–aligned hardening and secure configuration practices. The role also involves executing functional and performance tests, regression tests, and interoperability assessments, documenting findings, tracking anomalies, and recommending corrective actions, as well as supporting automated test development. Coordination with NIWC engineers, shipboard personnel, and TYCOM/Fleet stakeholders is essential, along with aligning system updates with fleet schedules, maintenance windows, and CANES baselines. Finally, the position requires producing technical reports, configuration documentation, and system status updates, and providing clear recommendations to leadership on system risks, readiness, and modernization needs.
