Network Engineer Internship IRES - SSFB
About The Position
This internship is expected to last for 6 months from the start date and is located at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO. The Network Engineer Internship supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will work in close coordination with Architecture and Engineering team leads, project managers, network architects, and engineers from other service areas. They will support the design, configuration, installation, and test of IT network devices and systems at MDA remote and enterprise sites by following standardized design and implementation documentation, instructions, and procedures. The role provides technical contributions to facilitate project completion to satisfy contractual requirements according to high-level architecture designs with guidance from senior peers. The intern will also provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection with guidance and support from senior Network Engineers, and receive hands-on experience with the latest Cisco hardware and technology, such as Software Defined Access. Other duties may include troubleshooting support of network connectivity issues with remote site customers. Requirements
- Must have 6, or more, months of general (full-time) work experience
- Must have an interest, and desire, to learn the roles and responsibilities of a Network Engineer and to grow into a Junior role
- Must have, or obtain within 3 months of hire, a current DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or above)
- Must have, or obtain, an active DoW Secret Security Clearance
