About The Position

The Network Engineer 3 supports Commerce IT network connectivity across LAN, WAN, security, and VoIP by designing required data connectivity. The role collaborates with other Network Engineers, Network System Administrators, and third-party vendors, stays current on new solutions, and recommends improvements to support CNO. The position reports to the Network Systems Manager. The engineer independently resolves complex network issues, analyzes problems across varied scopes, selects appropriate troubleshooting methods, and contributes to departmental goals. The role includes troubleshooting Layer 3 routing, planning and designing enterprise IP schemas, configuring network devices and firewalls, and implementing and troubleshooting LAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN solutions. Day-to-day work requires little instruction, with general guidance for new assignments.

Requirements

Associate's degree.
Five years of related work experience.
CCNA certification.
At least five years of professional experience supporting Cisco hardware.
At least five years of experience supporting Cisco or other vendors' switches, routers, or firewalls.

Responsibilities

Resolve a wide range of issues using a full understanding of the area of specialization.
Analyze problems of diverse scope, evaluate relevant factors, and use sound judgment to select methods and solutions.
Align basic projects and work with departmental goals, and communicate operational challenges clearly to internal and external parties.
Influence the department on issues related to the specialty and contribute to departmental goals.
Troubleshoot Layer 3 solutions using EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, or other routing protocols; plan and design enterprise IP schemas.
Configure network devices, including firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers.
Troubleshoot and implement LAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN solutions.
Configure firewalls within the CNO environment when required.
Perform day-to-day work with little instruction and take general instruction on new assignments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
