About The Position

TAP Engineering is seeking a Network Engineer to support high-performance computing environments spanning multi-vendor servers, HPC clusters, and specialized processing systems. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network infrastructure while helping ensure reliable and secure connectivity across mission-critical systems.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (most recent poly within the last 7 years)
  • DoD 8570 IAT II certification
  • Experience with Cisco IOS, CatOS, and/or NX-OS
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols, routing, and switching
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, and network security technologies
  • Knowledge of stateful firewalls, access control, and VPN technologies
  • Experience with F5 and/or Cisco load balancers
  • Familiarity with Juniper, InfiniBand, Fibre Channel SAN, and virtualization technologies such as VMware
  • Familiarity with network management and ticketing tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a live-call and operational support environment
  • Ability to participate in on-call support

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and other network security devices
  • Support enterprise network infrastructure across Layer 2 and Layer 3 environments
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, TCP/IP, VPN, firewall, and access-control technologies
  • Support Cisco, Juniper, F5, and other multi-vendor networking platforms
  • Work with specialized technologies including InfiniBand and Fibre Channel SAN environments
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity and infrastructure issues
  • Support network security through firewall configuration, access controls, and authentication technologies
  • Document configurations, incidents, and technical activities using ticketing and collaboration tools
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to network incidents as required
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, system administrators, and other technical teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues
