This opportunity resides with Global Security (GS). The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Control Technician is responsible for administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client, server, and network infrastructure used to support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services for the NITE.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Security+ or equivalent certification
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance
  • Windows desktop operating systems (WIN11)
  • Experience with Cisco switching/troubleshooting connectivity issues
  • Experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations
  • Experience with VMware
  • Experience with network and performance monitoring tools (SolarWinds, etc.)
  • Strong technical troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to quickly read, understand, and apply technical information
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Use of Enterprise Patching systems
  • Cisco experience
  • Linux+/Microsoft/Cisco certification

Responsibilities

  • Work in close coordination with other team members and departments to update, monitor and maintain servers, workstations, and network devices used throughout the enterprise.
  • Perform Microsoft Windows client/server administration, maintenance, patching
  • Configure systems in compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • This role provides individuals with the ability to work independently and work within a team.
