About The Position

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently recruiting for a Network Communications Designer 2 or 3 level to join our team at our Bacchus facility, located in Magna, Utah. This role involves network communications design, including interior and exterior ethernet and copper/fiber optic systems. Responsibilities include field investigation and documentation of existing systems, AutoCAD drafting and design, material take-offs, and working with maintenance craftsmen and contractors for project construction. The role also involves resolving field problems, troubleshooting, and overseeing the installation and startup of newly designed systems. The position requires project management with supervision over all aspects of a project, including crafts, contractors, and budget/schedule oversight. This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 2 years of network communications design experience (for Level 2).
Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 5 years of network communications design experience (for Level 3).
BICSI certifications required.
Experience drafting/design/installation of network communications systems, including ethernet, copper, and fiber optic system.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving network and communication problems.
Ability to read and interpret drawings.
Ability to work in field environments, including climbing ladders, working outdoors, and in confined or congested spaces.

Nice To Haves

Network Design certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDE, CCD, AWS, Azure)
Excellent communication skills.
AutoCAD drafting ability.

Responsibilities

Network communications design including interior and exterior ethernet and copper/fiber optic systems.
Field investigation and documentation of existing network communications systems.
AutoCAD drafting and design of existing and new network communications systems.
Material take-offs, prepare requisitions to order project materials
Work with maintenance craftsmen and contractors to get the projects constructed.
Resolve field problems, troubleshooting.
AutoCAD drafting and design of low voltage systems including fire, SCADA, access control, camera, process control
Work as part of a multi-disciplined project team
Oversee installation and startup of newly designed systems with both internal craft & outside contractors.
Oversee projects from concept to completion.
Develop drawing packages using AutoCAD.
Provide detailed cost estimates for project design and implementation.
Project management with supervision over all aspects of a project including crafts, contractors, and overseeing budget and schedule.
