About The Position

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently recruiting for a Network Communications Designer 2 or 3 level to join our team at our Bacchus facility, located in Magna, Utah. This role involves designing interior and exterior ethernet and copper/fiber optic systems, conducting field investigations, documenting existing systems, and performing AutoCAD drafting for both existing and new network communications systems. The position also includes material take-offs, preparing requisitions, collaborating with maintenance craftsmen and contractors for project construction, and resolving field problems through troubleshooting. Additionally, the role requires AutoCAD drafting and design of low voltage systems such as fire, SCADA, access control, camera, and process control. The designer will work as part of a multi-disciplined project team, oversee the installation and startup of newly designed systems, and manage projects from concept to completion. Responsibilities include developing drawing packages using AutoCAD, providing detailed cost estimates, and project management, including supervision over crafts, contractors, budget, and schedule.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 2 years of network communications design experience (for Level 2).
Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 5 years of network communications design experience (for Level 3).
Experience drafting/design/installation of network communications systems, including ethernet, copper, and fiber optic system.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving network and communication problems.
Ability to read and interpret drawings.
Ability to work in field environments, including climbing ladders, working outdoors, and in confined or congested spaces.
U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

Nice To Haves

BICSI certifications highly preferred
Network Design certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDE, CCD, AWS, Azure)
Excellent communication skills.
AutoCAD drafting ability.

Responsibilities
