About The Position

This position is responsible for providing independent technical support services to State of Alaska employees at the Department of Environmental Conservation in Anchorage. The incumbent troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software and network IT issues, tracking resolutions in a ticketing system. The position plans, implements, maintains, and decommissions servers to migrate to enterprise data solutions. Primary duties and responsibilities include: Junior Level Server and Infrastructure Support, utilizing VSphere and Azure tools Active Directory Administration Backup and Recovery Solutions Sharepoint Administrator Tier 2 Ticket Escalations Utilizing Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager for Images and patching Liaison between various teams, including Security, Networking and Platform Services Building and deploying Powershell Scripts for systems administration Cisco Meraki configuration and monitoring Licensing

  • Competencies in Configuration Management: Knowledge of the principles and methods for planning or managing the implementation, update, or integration of information systems components.
  • Competencies in Learning: Uses efficient learning techniques to acquire and apply new knowledge and skills; uses training, feedback, or other opportunities for self-learning and development.
  • Competencies in Network Management: Knowledge of the operation, management, and maintenance of network and telecommunication systems and linked systems and peripherals.
  • Competencies in Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem.
  • Training in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a similar field or experience in monitoring networks, documenting network problems, and providing technical support to network users.
