About The Position

NorthHill Technology Resources has a need for a Network Administrator to support a Federal Program in Springfield, VA. This is a direct-hire role with our client, a fast-growing Federal Integrator. An active TS/SCI Clearance is required, and the company will sponsor for CI Polygraph within the first year. We are seeking a Network Administrator to support an NGA Program. The environment is primarily Cisco using ACI Fabric (policy-driven, software-defined networking (SDN) solution), with some Juniper in the environment. They also have F5 Load balancing. This is a Data Center / Campus Area Networking environment.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance required
  • Experience with Cisco ACI Fabric

  • Experience in a Data Center / Campus Area Networking environment
  • Systems administration of routing and switching systems
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution
  • Escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
  • Installation/loading of operating system and application software
  • Isolation and resolution of hardware and software problems
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, and configuring network components
  • Implementing operating system enhancements
  • Routine and emergency maintenance of assigned data center equipment
  • Communication/coordination of scheduled preventive maintenance windows
  • Development, administration, and testing of backup and recovery plans
  • Ensuring systems are secure to STIG guidelines
  • Utilizing tools such as Retina and HBSS
  • Maintaining operational and configuration SOPs
  • Verifying system availability with existing Enterprise tools

Responsibilities

  • Systems administration of routing and switching systems connected to local and wide area networks.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems and management of system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Install/load operating system and application software.
  • Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination therefore.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of assigned data center equipment.
  • Communicate/coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance windows with potentially impacted customers.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the development, administration, and testing of backup and recovery plans.
  • Ensure systems are secure to STIG guidelines by utilizing tools such as Retina and HBSS.
  • Maintain operational, configuration, and other standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Verify system availability with existing Enterprise tools.
