About The Position

The Network Administrator will be responsible for the setup, configuration, and support of internal and/or external LAN/WAN/MAN/CAN network configurations. This role involves troubleshooting network performance issues, both internally and externally with vendors/carriers, and maintaining the ISD department's BCP and DR plans for network operations. The administrator will also recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications/equipment, and provide technical support and guidance to end users.

Requirements

Knowledge of Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing protocols including BGP, etc.
Experiences with Enterprise Cisco routers, switches, VOIP, VPN, wireless technologies, QOS, and firewalls.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated strength in statistical/analytical tools for system monitoring.
High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of related experience in data network configuration and troubleshooting in a professional data center environment.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Configure and install various network devices and services (i.e., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QOS, load balancers, SNMP, IPAM, etc.).
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability uptime is up to 100%. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Provide level 1 (phone support) and level 2 (Deskside support) and troubleshooting issues with carriers, vendors, and end users.
Work with established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the networks infrastructure.
Document Network operating procedures and Data Communications equipment configurations.
Maintain inventory of Data Communications equipment. Report service disruptions to Telco and works with Telco to restore service.
Interface with Data Communications Equipment providers to properly configure the equipment and correct equipment malfunctions.
Provide input to the design, development, and implementation of operational activities relating to networks.
Maintain day-to-day logs of service disruptions.
